Hello,
My name is Narae Bernabe, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in working with individuals who appear highly capable on the outside but feel exhausted internally by perfectionism, anxiety, self-doubt, and the pressure to meet expectations. With over 10 years of clinical experience, I support clients navigating burnout, identity shifts, and periods of meaningful personal change—including parents working to break generational patterns, high-achieving professionals struggling with imposter syndrome, and young adults managing family and cultural pressures. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded in themselves and create a life that reflects their values rather than external expectations.

Education & Background

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Sociology from UC Berkeley and my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC. As a 1.5-generation Asian American therapist, I bring a culturally attuned perspective to my work and understand the complexities of balancing personal needs with family, cultural, and societal expectations. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and incorporate trauma-informed approaches to help clients develop insight, strengthen coping skills, and reduce patterns of self-doubt. I also utilize the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) to support parents in building practical, nurturing strategies while reflecting on the experiences that shaped them.
MY APPROACH
My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. I strive to create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood and do not have to explain or minimize the impact of cultural or familial expectations. Together, we work to quiet internal pressure, build greater self-awareness and self-trust, and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges. Therapy is ultimately about creating meaningful change while staying connected to who you are, and I aim to help clients move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and balance.
