Hello,

My name is Narae Bernabe, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over a decade of experience supporting children, adults, and families. Since beginning my clinical work in 2013 and becoming licensed in 2016, I have worked in both community mental health and inpatient psychiatric settings, where I’ve supported clients through a wide range of experiences from everyday stress and life transitions to more complex challenges like anxiety, depression, and trauma.

As a Korean immigrant, I also bring a personal understanding of cultural identity, acculturation stress, and intergenerational dynamics.  I am especially passionate about supporting Asian and Asian American individuals and families.

Education & Background

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC Berkeley and my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a behavioral therapist and teacher’s aide in early childhood education, which shaped my understanding of child development and family systems.

I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), supporting children and adolescents who have experienced trauma; Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), helping parents build practical and nurturing strategies; and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which I incorporate in my work with adults.

MY APPROACH

I take a warm, collaborative, and individualized approach to therapy, meeting each client where they are. I focus on building self-awareness, strengthening coping skills, and helping clients process challenges in a supportive space. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and connected to themselves and their relationships as they move toward meaningful, lasting change.
