Hello,
I’m Kylene Stewart, a registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor experienced in the mental health field since 2020 and a background working with adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of diagnoses. I’m especially passionate about helping people untangle their relationship with food, body image, and self-worth. I believe therapy isn’t about forcing yourself to fit into a world that doesn’t see you clearly, it’s about discovering how your most authentic self can truly flourish.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

During my graduate school journey at Pacific University in Oregon, I worked with adolescents in a day treatment program, providing therapeutic support during school hours and facilitating groups in the afternoons. After earning my master’s in Applied Psychological Sciences, I returned to California and worked at Center for Discovery, where I found my passion for supporting individuals struggling with body image and disordered eating. I later worked in a Crisis Residential Treatment Program, where I had the privilege of supporting the adult homeless population navigating acute mental health crises. My time there taught me how trauma-informed, client-centered care can be both grounding and empowering.

MY APPROACH
My approach for supporting individuals struggling with body image and disordered eating incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Health at Every Size (HAES), intuitive eating, and body neutrality to help shift unhelpful narratives and foster self-acceptance. When working with depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and identity exploration, I pull from narrative, relational, and strength-based frameworks. I also provide a supportive, affirming space for the LGBTQIA+ community, with a special focus on those who resonate with an ace and/or aro identity. And since therapy can get heavy, I make sure to bring a balance of warmth, creativity, and humor into our sessions because healing doesn’t have to be serious all the time.
